Stamina Aeropilates Review – Pro XP 556 Model

Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 Review textHi Everyone!

Since this site is dedicated to helping you lose weight with Pilates, I thought I should include a Stamina AeroPilates review because I think it’s something you might want to seriously consider.

Although I don’t personally own one of these (yet) I love this reformer, and I hope that I will be able to get one in the future. First I need to get a bigger house ;).

I am recommending this to you based on what I know to be true about exercise and weight loss, not because it’s some hot new workout that everyone else is doing.

This Aeropilates machine is NOT some goofy-unnecessary-weight-loss-gimmick-machine that you don’t need.

It’s a Pilates reformer, but it happens to also have the ability to give you a cardio workout as well, which just awesome for losing weight with Pilates.

I have done extensive behind the scenes research to bring you this Aeropilates review, and so I  hope it is helpful to you.

Alright, here we go…

What Is An Aeropilates Reformer And Why Would You Want To Have One?

Although mat Pilates can help you develop core strength and flexibility, it can only get you so far in terms of strength building and fat loss.

Mat Pilates also cannot correct muscle imbalances that way that a Pilates Reformer can.

The Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 Home Pilates Reformer is a Pilates Reformer and cardio rebounder all in one machine.

This means that in addition to any mat Pilates workouts you may be doing, you can now add the needed cardio challenge to your Pilates workouts that will accelerate your weight loss.

Here is a short video of a Pilates studio in Florida that uses a similar Pilates Reformer with the rebounder attachment:

The really cool thing about the AeroPilates Reformer is that you can add resistance so that the jumping is quite challenging and gets your heart rate high very quickly.

The AeroPilates Pro XP 556 machine does not take up a huge amount of space. But it still may be too big for some. The good thing is that they offer different machines with prices to fit anyone’s budget.

Why You Must Correct Your Muscle Imbalances

If you have muscle imbalances, like most of the population, and you do not correct them, you will not develop efficient muscle recruitment patterns.

In other words, during exercise you will not be able to call upon the appropriate muscles as efficiently as you should, which not only leaves you more prone to injury as you age, but can prevent you from building strength and reaching your weight loss goals.

You see, the more muscles you are able to recruit (activate) during exercise, the more calories you will burn.

And so if these neuromuscular inefficiencies are not corrected, you will continue to have faulty movement patterns and diminished muscle activation.

The Aeropilates Rebounder puts your body in correct alignment, while training your core to initiate movement (the hallmark of Pilates training). This allows you to work your muscles evenly which will correct any imbalances you may have.

Below I have included this short video which talks about how the Aeropilates performer/rebounder works and why it is so great :

Who Is The Aeropilates Rebounder Best For?

The Aeropilates rebounder is great for home exercisers who either hate the gym or don’t have the time to get there. The rebounder only requires a 20 minute workout 3-4 times a week to see results.

It’s also nice for those of us who need a low impact exercise option that is intense enough to be worth our time.

Also, if you’ve been primarily doing Pilates mat work and you would like to mix it up a bit, this would be a nice change. Upgrading to a reformer allows you to add resistance to your workouts, which is the key to continual increases in lean body mass and weight loss.

This machine makes it so easy for you to incorporate fat burning cardio into Pilates workouts without racking your brain or feeling confused. You can easily get your entire workout – strength training plus cardio – knocked out in one shot. How’s that for saving time?

What Comes in The Box?

The Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 Home Pilates Reformer with Free-Form Cardio Rebounder comes with:

  1. Free-form cardio rebounder
  2. Level 1 workout DVD
  3. 20 minute cardio workout DVD
  4. Full color workout wall chart

It comes with adjustable cords and ropes which will allow you to increase the challenge of your workouts whenever you need to. The straps and handgrips are made to fit any user and the footrest adjusts to three positions. Also, the rails are five inches longer than standard reformers, so you taller users will be comfortable.

You will need to put the Reformer together yourself, and so here is a video of a woman assembling hers. She says it was pretty easy, save for a few mistakes, and that it took her about 2 hours:

The Workout

From what I hear, rebounding while lying down in prone position is even more of a challenge than standing and gets your heart rate up higher (and faster) than running.

Rebounding has also been known to dramatically reduce the appearance of cellulite.

What Other Women Are Saying About The Aeropilates Rebounder

As I was dong research about this machine, I kept coming across women that were saying doing these workouts had resulted in cellulite reduction.

Other women said they loved the workouts because they are easy to do and highly effective – yet relaxing at the same time.

Busy women really liked that the workouts on DVD are short, but don’t skimp on intensity.

Why I Give The AeroPilates Machine My Highest Recommendation

The AeroPilates reformer makes it very simple for you to not only get your cardio and strength workout done quickly, but it takes all of the guesswork out of planning your workouts.

You don’t have to worry about whether you are working at a high enough intensity level for fat loss, which is a common problem when you are trying to lose weight with low impact exercise.

Pilates is, and always will be, an excellent way to add fat-burning lean muscle mass to your frame. The muscles you will develop doing Pilates will be lean, strong, and best of all, non-bulky.
