Hi Ladies –
I have completed week three of my Ballet Body results case study. Unfortunately I was only able to get two workouts in this past week.
But that’s okay! The two workouts I did get in were great :).
Something interesting I noticed is that my form is getting much better. In the beginning I had trouble stretching my legs/arms straight (if you do barre or Pilates, you know what I am talking about) during the movements. It seemed I was contracting my muscles more than I was stretching and lengthening them.
But now, three weeks in, I am able to really lengthen my limbs during the exercises. Because I am able to hold better form, the exercises are actually getting MUCH harder. My legs were trembling during the inner and outer thigh sequences, and I had to stop a couple of times to take breaks.
Something else I noticed, which was a bit of a surprise, was that my quads were a bit sore for a couple of days following the last workout I did. The bridges work the quads indirectly, but I didn’t expect to get soreness from them at all. So that was a nice surprise, and good proof and reassurance for those of you who prefer to avoid quad heavy workouts.
So far, my glutes are more lifted and my legs are getting some nice visible definition 😉 I don’t plan on stopping this workout anytime soon. I think this might be a “forever workout.”
Well, that’s all for today, I will be back next week with week 4 of my Ballet Beautiful Total Body Workout results case study.
Can’t wait! 🙂
HAVE YOU TRIED HER NEW CARDIO ONE OR HER NEW SCULPT DVD IF SO WHAT DID YOU THINK?
Hi Deb!
I just purchased and received these two in the mail last week. I have only done one of the segments on the Cardio Sculpt video, and really liked it. It got my heart rate up and I was breathing pretty hard – and that was only the first workout! I will be reviewing them both in the next month, so be sure to check back – Or you can just subscribe to the blog to receive an update by email when I post new reviews and posts! Thanks for visiting :)!
Hi,
I’m grateful for your BB case study, as I’ve just started this week doing it myself.
I however, have not done any kind of workouts before and I’m wondering how you’d rate BB, at this point, in terms of cardio and fat burning? I don’t need to lose a heap, but a slight slim-down in general would be ideal.
What’s your opinion?
Hi Maxine! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it!
If your diet is clean and encourages fat loss by itself, then this workout should be enough by itself. However, if you don’t really want to change much with your eating habits because you already eat pretty healthy, I would say to add 20-30 minute brisk walk on alternate days. Since you are a beginner, this would be ideal, and then you could move up from there (like adding in another light cardio workout DVD if you’d like).
With the Ballet Beautiful Total Body Workout alone, I noticed my pants got looser in the hip and seat area (although I am more shapely). My muscles are really pulling in and lifting, while taking on a nice sculpted look. Hope that helps :)!
